Eugene and Dan Levy, the father-son duo from Schitt’s Creek, are set to host the 76th Emmy Awards on September 15th. This marks a historic first — they are the first father-son team to host the prestigious event. (I actually don’t know why that’s “historic,” really. Let’s just call it a “first.”)
The Levys were the first father-son pair to win Emmys in the same year back in 2020, when the two won awards for their work in the show they created. “For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough,” the two joked.
I have little else to add except that if it feels like we just had the Emmy Awards, it’s because we did. Because of the writers’ strike, the 75th Emmy Awards were held in January. We’ve barely had time to get The Bear echo out of our minds before we have to prepare to hear it again.
There’s still no Oscar host, which is fine. It’s not until March 2025. And apparently, all you need is a month to prepare, or at least that’s how much time Eugene and Dan Levy were given, and Dan is definitely not the SNL host that Bowen Yang was talking about.
Also, remember when Dan Levy appeared in only one episode of The Idol? That was weird.
