The 3rd Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF) will hold virtually from August 25 – 29, 2020.
Themed ‘Harmonization, Peace Development and Content Sustainability’, this year’s edition will hold via Zoom, as organisers cite safety reasons due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Participants are expected to watch out for masterclasses, film makers roundtable, talks, panel discussions, and film Screenings, among others.
The organisers have also announced this year’s panel discussion that will focus on: Sustaining our cultural content and it’s moral in our present society: Has film promoted our culture?
The panel discussion will be moderated by US-based film producer, Bukky Campbell and will feature a 7-man panel which includes Nollywood actresses, Laide Bakare and Tonia Nwosu; film producer, Alex Eyengho; Executive Director, Borno Young Entrepreneurship Foundation, Fatima Abbas Muhammed; Director of Special Duties, Nigerian Film Corporation, Jos, Brian Etuk; and veteran journalist and film scholar, Dr. Husseini Shaibu.
The discussion will hold at 3pm on Friday August 28 via zoom.
KADIFF also disclosed that ‘Tuntube’, ‘Twilight’ and ‘Shuga Blessa’ are the official selections for this year’s edition of the film fest. ‘Text Message’, a South African short film on how the pandemic has affected African women will screen as the festival’s Covid-19 special premiere.
