Burna Boy Overtakes Wizkid As Best-Selling African Artist Of All-Time

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has overtaken his colleague, Wizkid, as the best-selling African artist of all-time in the modern streaming era.

According to modern comprehensive metrics tracked by global music monitoring platform, ChartMasters, Burna Boy is the best-selling African artist with global Equivalent Album Sales with over 14.46 million consumption units.

Wizkid now trails Burna Boy with 14.4 million equivalent units.

However, Algerian legend Cheb Khaled still leads in traditional physical and career unit estimates with an estimated 81 million records sold globally.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy has set another new record as the first African artist to surpass 800 million monthly listeners on YouTube Music.
