The Berlin International Film Festival has announced that the call for entries to emerging film critics and journalists for its 2021 Berlinale Talent Press will open on September 1, 2020.
Every year, Talent Press invites eight film critics and journalists to explore the festival’s many offerings and sharpen their critical tools in the Talent Press editorial office, where they write and finesse articles with mentors.
The participants will work on an in-depth essay, to be published in an outlet of their choice, and are encouraged to compose reviews in a variety of formats, meet international programmers and share their insights with cinephiles worldwide.
Based on the choice of essay topic, participants will be able to attend Berlinale Talents talks, conduct interviews and access film screenings. Their works will be featured on the Berlinale Talents, Goethe-Institut and FIPRESCI websites.
Beyond the Talent Press workshops, Berlinale Talents features countless talks, films and discussions offering endless networking opportunities and insights into the industry’s brightest creative minds.
Talent Press, an initiative of Berlinale Talents in collaboration with FIPRESCI and the Goethe-Institut, is an international platform and talent developer for emerging film critics and journalists.
