Ayra Starr becomes first African female artist to hit 5 million followers on Spotify

Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, has set a new African record on streaming giant, Spotify.

The ‘Rush’ crooner recently surpassed 5 million followers on the platform, becoming the the first African female artist to hit the milestone.


However, she still trails Tems on the list of most streamed African female artists on the platform.

She has a total of 2.7 billion streams across all credits while Tems has 3.8 billion streams.

Ayra Starr’s most streamed song on Spotify is “Santa”, with over 707,987,442 million streams. Her most streamed lead single on the platform is “Rush”, with over 474 million streams.
