Adenthe iji Omirin, President of the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria, EMCOAN, has announced why everyone needs to attend the fifth edition of the Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards, NEMCEA. NigerianEnergy Sector

At a recent press briefing on Thursday, August 13, 2026, the Omirin, alongside his team, announced planned activities ahead of the 2026 edition of NEMCEA.

With the Theme: ‘The Creator’s Economy – Elevate Your Craft, Secure Your Future,’ the press conference was attended by members of EMCOAN, media and brands bankrolling the event was attended by members of EMCOAN, media, and brands bankrolling the event. Omirin said, “Secure Your Future. This theme reflects the realities of the rapidly changing creative economy. Today, content creators are no longer confined to the traditional television and radio studios. Content is being created, distributed and consumed across multiple platforms and devices. Artificial intelligence, streaming platforms, social media, connected television, digital broadcasting and other emerging technologies are fundamentally changing how content is produced, distributed, consumed and monetised.”

The fundamental question before us is:How do we empower the creator to elevate his or her craft, while ensuring that the intellectual property, commercial value and economic future of that creator are secured? This is at the heart of NEMCEA 2026. We want to move the conversation beyond simply creating content to building sustainable content businesses and sustainable careers.”

Speaking on the project, the coordinator, Alayande Stephen rolled out key highlights and event segments saying, “2026 NEMCEA is a milestone, and activities scheduled for this milestone i,nclude the main conference, keynote addresses, The Director General’s (DG’s) roundtable, high-impact panel sessions, masterclass series, content market and Exhibition, the Industry Awards Nite, Strategic Partnerships and call to action.

In his words, Alayande said, “Too many storytellers transition from viral moments into financial vulnerability. NEMCEA 2026 is designed to change that narrative. Our focus this year is to move the industry from mere content creation to sustainable wealth creation, ensuring that practitioners across Television, Radio, and Online platforms do not only elevate the aesthetic and technical quality of their craft, but also first secure their intellectual property, revenue streams, and financial futures.”
