Villaffest 2025: Another Year Of Unforgettable Cultural Experience

The annual Villaffest, a celebration of African culture and creativity, exceeded expectations recently with its grand three-day event in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The festival, held between December 20 and December 22, 2025, delivered an unforgettable cultural experience that have continued to resonate with the attendees. Like the previous editions, the three days event drew participants from across the country.

The festival Founder and director, Ichie Ihemba Kelechi Eke, and local organizers, led by Nollywood director Royal Prince, ensured a memorable outing , leaving no stone unturned.

In fact, from the first day of the festival till it’s closing day, the Imo State Art Village, Mbari, venue of the event suddenly turned into a marketplace of cultural extravaganza, creativity and youth empowerment.

The beauty pageant was a highlight of the festival, with talented contestants vying for top spots. But at the end of the contest, Tochi Promise Nwaeze emerged the new Face of Villaffest. She will represent the organization this year. Joy Chidera Nneji, (second runner-up) becomes Face of Villaffest Culture, while Hilary Peace Udoka (third runner-up) is Face of Villaffest Ambassador.

There were also stunning performances by Omenka Women Cultural Dance group, Okata Theater Troupe, The Mirror of Justice Theatre Troupe and Okorosha Amafor Masquerade. Guests enjoyed live paintings and art exhibitions showcasing works by artists from across the country and Ike Nka Art Hub members, highlighting the richness of African creativity.

Actress, Stephanie Chijioke Frank, was honoured with the Nollywood Achievers Award, while veteran Actress, Ogechi Obilonu (Nwanyi Owerri) hosted the award night.

Eke, who’s also the founder of the yearly The African Film Festival (TAFF), in Dallas, Texas, said the festival seeks to celebrate Africa’s cultural vibrancy through indigenous Arts and Films for the preservation of the people’s culture.Meanwhile, the event was a testament to the power of African culture and creativity, with talented youths showcasing their skills. The organizers’ efforts paid off, making Villaffest 2025 an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
