Sean Combs’ Prison Term Reduced After Rehab Programme Admission

Sean “Diddy” Combs is expected to leave prison earlier than previously scheduled following his enrolment in a federal drug rehabilitation programme.

According to public records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons cited by Page Six, the music executive’s projected release date has been moved from June 4, 2028, to April 25, 2028 — roughly six weeks sooner than earlier anticipated.

The adjustment reportedly followed his admission into the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) in November. Inmates who complete the programme may qualify for sentence reductions under federal guidelines.

At the time of his acceptance, a representative for the Bad Boy Records founder said he was committed to the rehabilitation process.

“Mr. Combs is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start. He is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change,” the statement read.

Combs’ release timeline has fluctuated in recent months. In November 2025, his projected date was extended from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028, following allegations that he violated several prison regulations while in custody at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, in New Jersey.

The revised date comes as the rapper continues to challenge his conviction. In December, he filed an appeal seeking either a reversal of the verdict or a reduction of his four-year sentence. His legal team argues that prosecutors failed to sufficiently establish their case and that the punishment imposed was excessive.

Federal prosecutors opposed the appeal in February, urging the court to uphold both the conviction and the sentence.

Combs was convicted on two counts related to transportation for prostitution after a lengthy trial and is currently serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix.
