Popular Actress Seeks Help As YouTube Pulls Down Hit Movie

Actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye’s movie “To Be a Friend” has been taken down from YouTube due to copyright concerns over sound content.

The film, starring Ademoye, Uzor Arukwe, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Kunle Remi, had amassed nearly six million views before its removal.

Ademoye shared the news on Instagram, explaining that music rights issues led to the takedown.

She mentioned the possibility of re-uploading the movie and appealed to fans for support.

If re-uploaded, she asked viewers to watch, like, share, and subscribe to help the film regain traction.

She said, “To Be A Friend is no longer on the YouTube channel; it’s sad, but life goes on. We had a bit of a situation with copyright issues with sound. No, we didn’t go through back doors, and yes, we picked the right channel, but it is what it is.

“Yeah, I wish I could explain more, but sadly, I can’t. I probably eventually will, but not now. So it’s no longer on the YouTube channel, but please, we might have to re-upload, which means we might have to start all over again from the beginning. It’s almost six million views, but it is what it is.

“If we re-upload and start from where we stopped, which is picking up from the 6 million views, I will appreciate if you watch, like, share, subscribe and if we have to start all over again, I will super-duper appreciate it if you share to your friends, family, post on your page, story, anywhere just to help support this girl because I can’t do it without you.

“And yeah, I don’t know what to say, the movie is down, and we are going to be back soon. Let’s see how it goes. Are we going to get six million views? I don’t know. Are we going to get over six million views? I don’t know, but God is God; he sits upon his throne and watches over us.”

The movie, directed by Great Val Edochie, was released in July and gained online attention.
