Omah Lay Says Nigerian Music Industry Is Becoming ‘Boring,’ Promises to Revive Afrobeats

by The Culture Newspaper October 10, 2025
Afrobeats singer, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has claimed that the Nigerian music industry is becoming boring.

The ‘Soso’ hitmaker promised to spice up African music soon.

On his Snapchat, Omah Lay wrote, “Una music industry is boring AF! Spirit is coming to f**k up the continent in a bit.”

This is coming after another Nigerian singer, Slimcase, expressed concern over the country’s music industry, claiming that Afrobeats artists’ sounds were becoming boring.

The Shaku Shaku crooner urged Afrobeats to release less music in order to bid excitements and anticipation for their releases.

He claimed that the constant release of songs among the Afrobeat stars was “killing” the genre.
