My Collaborations With Davido, Mayorkun Only Damaged My Career -Afrobeat Star, Spyro

Popular Nigerian Afrobeat star, Spyro has disclosed that he experienced a career setback after collaboration with Davido and Mayorkun.

Speaking during his recent interview on HipTV, Spyro explained that he thought that his collaboration with Davido would boost his career.

Recall that Spyro featured Davido in 2018, in the remix version of his song ‘Funke’.

However, recounting the experience, the singer stated that despite the song’s initial success, he faced unexpected setbacks, which includes losing contact.

“I had a song back then, that I had Davido and Mayorkun on it. I actually thought that my life was about to change. The song came out big, and I went back down all of a sudden.

“I sat down and thought about it because how do I go from working with Davido, vibing with Mayorkun and all those guys, and all of a sudden, they no longer even pick your calls anymore.

” I would just sit down on my staircase back then and cry by I had my parents at home that I needed to take care of, and a lot of things were just going wrong”.

Spyro, who became famous in 2022 after the release of his hit song ‘Who Is Your Guy’, also has collaborative singles with Tiwa Savage and Simi.
