Nigerian actor Efa Iwara has described his time on the set of King of Boys as a “magical” experience, applauding the film’s creator, Kemi Adetiba, for her artistic vision and resilience.

Speaking on #WithChude, Iwara praised Adetiba’s dedication to pushing boundaries, particularly during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Her energy, her drive, is enviable. And her creativity is out of this world,” he said.

He recounted how Adetiba continued filming despite being unwell and navigating strict production constraints, calling her approach a source of motivation and admiration.

“It was magical,” the actor said.

Iwara, who played a key role in the widely acclaimed series, reflected on how his experience helped shape his professional growth and deepen his respect for collaborative storytelling.

Kemi Adetiba is a Nigerian filmmaker, director, and storyteller known for her dynamic style and groundbreaking narratives. From the critically acclaimed King Of Boys franchise to her latest project, To Kill A Monkey, Adetiba continues to push the boundaries of African cinema, earning praise for her resilience, innovation, and ability to spotlight complex characters with unapologetic flair.

The actor also shared insights into his early career, including his time on the set of Ajoche, a period he described as rewarding.

He said, “ It showed me a range of what I could do.”

He revealed he is currently working on several projects, including his upcoming directorial debut, a short film yet to be titled.

“I feel I can do so much more. I feel like there is so much potential that is untapped,” he told Chude.

Opening up about his personal life, Iwara reflected on overcoming a speech challenge he was born with.

“I was born a stammerer,” he said, crediting his brother for helping him manage it during his transition into music and acting.

He also recalled a memorable encounter with musician 2Face, who encouraged him after a botched performance caused by a corrupted CD.
