Idris Elba, Seal Team Up For ‘Dust To Dreams,’ Short On Revival Of Lagos Nightclub (Exclusive Trailer)

An exclusive first look at Idris Elba‘s short film Dust to Dreams, starring Seal, has been released.

The Hollywood Reporter can reveal the trailer for the short, starring the English singer-songwriter and producer, as well as Nollywood stars Nse Ukpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, Atlanta Bridget Johnson and Constance Olatunde.

Dust to Dreams was written and directed by the Luther and Hijack actor, in collaboration with Nigerian producer Mo Abudu.

The film is set in Lagos’ pulsating heart, where a dying nightclub owner entrusts her legacy to her shy daughter. A long-lost soldier father ignites family drama but music becomes their redemption. “A soulful duet heals them all, uniting the family and breathing life back into the legendary club,” a plot synopsis reads.

Elba said: “This film was the most collaborative process from the production to the actors and musicians. This film was made because family matters and love doesn’t die.”

Abudu, recognized by Forbes as “Africa’s most successful woman” and previously featured on THR‘s Most Powerful Women in Global Entertainment, produced the short alongside Heidi Uys, Gina Carter, Temidayo Makanjuola and Inem King under the production company EbonyLife Films.
