‘I’d Rather Prefer A Collabo Than Your N20m Gift’, Portable Tells Burna Boy

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, a.k.a Portable, has expressed a preference for a musical collaboration with Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy over the latter’s N20 million gift he received from him.

Over the weekend, Portable revealed that Burna Boy rewarded him with the generous sum following his victory in a celebrity boxing match against fellow singer Speed Darlington. However, the ‘Tony Montana’ crooner lamented that despite the financial gesture, Burna Boy has refused to engage with him on social media.

In a video shared on Instagram, Portable claimed that the Afrofusion star has ignored his direct messages, failed to return his calls, and did not follow him on Instagram.

“Shout out to Burna Boy. Some people want to wash my brain with advice. This man gingered my brain with the N20 million,” he said.

“However, the person who gave me N20 million has never replied to me on Instagram; I don’t have his number, and he doesn’t pick up my calls.

“I chatted him up but he didn’t reply. Burna Boy, you gave me N20 million, but you didn’t reply to me. Give me a feature. Why are you stingy about replying to messages?”

Portable went further to argue that a collaboration with Burna Boy would benefit him more than a one-off financial gift.

“He isn’t following me on Instagram but he gave me money. He is my helper but he should feature me instead because the N20 million can finish in a day,” he said.

“If I collaborate with the person who gave me N20 million, I will go viral.”

The street-hop artist, known for his outspoken nature and unconventional style, has been in the spotlight for various controversies. His latest appeal adds to a growing list of public calls for support from industry heavyweights.
