The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has said that he never tried to stop the streaming of acclaimed stage production, ‘Moremi the Musical’ on YouTube on Sunday evening.
In a statement entitled ‘No dispute between all the descendants of Oduduwa on Moremi matters’ he signed on Wednesday, Oba Ogunwusi distanced himself from all statements that purportedly emanated from the palace that opposed the streaming, reiterating that he never authorised any of such statements.
Oba Ogunwusi, who also dissociated the House of Oduduwa from any statement that claimed it would seek redress in court over the streaming, appreciated the fruitful relationship between the palace and Bolanle Austen-Peters that birthed ‘Moremi the Musical’.
The King commended her illustrious pedigree and said the Royal Palace was open to future collaborations with her, especially given her contributions to the cultural space in Nigeria and Yorubaland.
