Everybody Loves Jenifa’ Hits N1.6bn, Becomes West Africa‘s Highest-Grossing Film Ever

Funke Akindele’s 2024 movie, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’, has made history as the highest-grossing film of all time in West Africa, surpassing N1.6 billion in earnings.

The movie had earlier set the record as the fastest Nollywood film to gross N1 billion, achieving this milestone in just 19 days.

Announcing the latest achievement, Funke Akindele, in a post on her verified Instagram account, attributed the feat to Almighty God.

She also expressed her gratitude to fans and supporters for their unwavering love and support for the project.

Sharing a flyer celebrating the latest record, she wrote, “Na God do am o!!!! I am so grateful to you all!!!! I no know Wetin I go write again!!!”

Everybody Loves Jenifa, the latest instalment in the beloved Jenifa series, continues to follow the humorous and relatable journey of Jenifa, played by Funke Akindele.

The movie features a stellar cast, including Falz, Nancy Isime, Stan Nze, and Layi, among others.

This is not the first time Akindele’s movie has crossed the N1 billion mark at the box office; her 2023 film, A Tribe Called Judah, also grossed over N1 billion
