Nigerian musician Ayra Starr, in partnership with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI), has provided food for 21 families within the Agege community of Lagos State.
In attendance were members of the Mavin team and the LFBI team, as well as the beneficiaries of this initiative. The outreach programme consisted of a short term and long term approach.
The former involved distributing 21 boxes with food to sustain a family of five for three weeks, while the latter set them up with adequate resources for poultry farming.
Activities included a refresher course on poultry farming for the beneficiaries, a tour of the LFBI facility and the distribution of the food boxes and poultry resources.
The mothers of those families, who received the items, expressed their gratitude with prayers and appreciation for Starr and LFBI.
Starr, who used to occasion to celebrate her 22nd birthday said: “I’m just so grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative and use my platform in such a meaningful and impactful way. I can’t imagine a better way to celebrate my 22nd birthday.”
