With profound sorrow, Mr. Mahmood Ali-Balogun, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AudioVisual Rights Society of Nigeria (AVRS), on behalf of the Board, has announced the passing of Alhaji Umar Maikudi Cashman, the esteemed President of the Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN).
In a statement signed by Makama Sani Mu’azu, the Head of Publicity Committee of AVRS, Ali-Balogun said Alhaji Maikudi’s leadership and unwavering commitment to the Nigerian film industry earned him immense respect and admiration.
“His tireless efforts to promote MOPPAN’s growth and development will be deeply cherished and sorely missed.”
The statement sId AVRS extends its heartfelt condolences to the film fraternity in Nigeria, members of MOPPAN, and Alhaji Maikudi’s bereaved family.
“May the Almighty grant them the fortitude to navigate this irreparable loss and grant Alhaji Maikudi’s noble soul eternal rest,” it stated.
