The 2026 Lagos Biennial, titled The Museum of Things Unseen and curated by Furen Dai, Chinyere Obieze and Sam Hopkins, has announced its list of participating artists.
The biennial seeks to bring together works that question the space of the museum, asking which stories are told, which are hidden and what structures shape these narratives.
The list of artist is as follows:
Ade Adekola, Ala Praxis, Caitlyn Min-ji Au, CAMP, Ha Bik Chuen, Jacob Höfle, Lagos Studio Archives, Olukemi Lijadu, Antoni Muntadas, New Culture Studios, Aki Sasamoto, Arcangelo Sassolino, Amie Siegel, Alafuro Sikoki-Coleman, Hito Steyerl, Ethel-Ruth Tawe, Bert Theis, Kara Walker.
OFFish, the biennial’s official parallel programme, will run alongside the main exhibition. The participants, selected via an open call, are:
Art Bridge, Lagos; The Greenbox Museum of Contemporary Art from Saudi Arabia, Hoofddorp; Future Ancestries; Floating Museum x Lagos Space Programme; Together – EU Pavilion; Parsons School of Design | The New School, New York; Academy of Media Arts, Cologne; Yaba College of Technology, Lagos.
The 2026 biennial will also mark the unveiling of the Àkéte Collection, a collection consisting of works from previous editions of the Lagos Biennial as well as donations and loans from international museums and private collectors. The artists featured in the inaugural collection are:

The Lagos Biennial will take place from 14 November to 6 December in Eko Atlantic City, a recently developed artificial peninsula in Lagos.
