Ariana Grande’s Couture Dress For The 2025 Critics Choice Awards Took 3,800 Hours To Make

Ariana Grande is continuing her winning awards-season run at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards tonight in Santa Monica. The actor and singer—who is nominated for best supporting actress for her turn in Wicked—has delivered many elegant (and Glinda-worthy) fashion moments this awards season, and her Critics Choice look on Friday night was no different. In fact, it even upped the ante.

The star and her stylist, Mimi Cuttrell, chose an ethereal dress from Dior Couture that leaned into fantasy and whimsy—so much so, in fact, that it wouldn’t seem out of place in the Wicked universe.

Grande’s dress—a short, collared style in tulle and crinoline, embroidered with weaves of natural raffia, organza flowers, and straw trimmings— is from Christian Dior’s spring 2025 couture collection, which was designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and debuted in Paris just last month. Though it was not in Grande’s signature shade of Glinda pink, a hue she has been sporting on the red carpet for months now while promoting the film, the design was still fit for a princess: Its elaborate embroidery demanded some 2,500 hours of labor, to say nothing of the 1,300 hours it took to make the rest of the dress. (This is couture, after all: The beauty is in its meticulous handiwork.)

If this is any indication of how splendid Grande’s Oscars look will be in March, we’re all in for a big treat. With fresh-off-the-runway couture now on the table, our minds are spinning with the possibilities. Will she go for a voluminous floral Valentino frock? A fabulous shaggy-pink Schiaparelli coat? The world is her oyster.
