AMVCA: Ramsey Nouah, Toyin Abraham top nominations

by Yinka Akanbi February 7, 2020
by Yinka Akanbi February 7, 2020

M-Net-owned TV network, Africa Magic, has unveiled nominations for the seventh edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA).

The nominations were announced last night in a live broadcast hosted by Nollywood couple, Linda Ejiofor and Ibrahim Suleiman, on all seven Africa Magic channels on DSTV and Gotv.

Nollywood actor, Ramsey Nouah, leads the pack with four nominations – ‘Best Actor in a Drama’, ‘Best Actor in a Comedy’, ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Drama’ and ‘Best Director’ for his directorial debut in Living in Bondage sequel. Toyin Abraham follows closely with three nominations for her roles in ‘Elevator Baby’, ‘Bling Lagosians’ and ‘Kasanova’.

The awards will be presented in 28 categories seven out of which will be open to the public. The other 21 will be decided by AMVCA panel of judges. But surprisingly, the organisers are yet to announce the date and venue of the award ceremony.

However, this year’s AMVCA includes a new category: ‘The MultiChoice Talent Factory Award’.
