2024 BET Hip Hop Awards: Megan Thee Stallion Leads With 12 Nominations (Full List)

The organisers of the BET Hip Hop Awards have announced the nominations for the fourth edition, with Megan Thee Stallion leading with 12 Nominations.

The show is set to take place in Las Vegas on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, and air on BET channel exactly one week later, on Tuesday, October 15, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Fat Joe will host the show which will be his third year in a row since Snoop Dogg hosted from 2013 to 2015.

In a statement, he said “Joe Crack is back for the three-peat, night baby.

“It’s been a dream to host the BET Hip Hop Awards the past few years, and I’m looking forward to taking things to the next level in Las Vegas. We’re going to be in a new city and location, but the excitement and entertainment at the awards will be even bigger than ever.”

Kendrick Lamar is behind Megan with 11 nominations, followed by Drake with eight nods, Cardi B, GloRilla, Metro Boomin and Nicki Minaj with seven each, Future and Travis Scott with six, 21 Savage and 41 with four while A$AP Rocky, Common, Lil Wayne, Pete Rock and Sexyy Red with three nominations.

For the first time since the category was introduced in 2020, women have achieved parity with men for the award of “Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year”.

The nominees include four women comprising Megan, Cardi B, GloRilla and Nicki Minaj and four men including 21 Savage, Drake, Future and Kendrick Lamar.

Afrobeats singers, Odumodublvck and Burna Boy are also flying Nigeria’s flag as they join the nomination list, with Odumodu getting nominated for ‘Best International Flow’ and Burna Boy for ‘Best Live Performance’.
