13th Headies Awards: Burna Boy Records nomination in 10 categories

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Burna Boy, has set a record as the artiste with the highest nomination in the history of the most-sought-after Headies award.

The Afro-fusion the hitmaker clinched a total of 10 nominations for the year in review surpassing Olamide’s record of 7 nominations in the 2015 edition of the awards.

Hit single, Ye got nominated in three categories – Song of the year, Recording of the year, and Best Pop Single. Burna has also been nominated for Best Reggae/Dancehall Single, Best Pop Album, Best Collaboration, Best Music Video, Album of the Year and Headies Viewers Choice Awards.

Following him closely are fellow singers, Teni and Adekunle Gold who recorded six nominations each.

The award ceremony will hold on October 19 at The Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.
