Passengers originally scheduled to fly with Jeju Air rushed to cancel their tickets following the fatal crash of Jeju Air Flight 2216 on December 29.

At about 9am KST on December 29, Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed upon landing at Muan International Airport. Of the 181 passengers and crew members, only two survived.

According to Jeju Air, ticket cancellations amounted to approximately 68,000 between December 29 at 12am KST and December 30 at 1pm KST.

Most of the cancellations came after 9am KST, the time of the fatal crash.

Of the 68,000 cancellations, approximately 33,000 tickets were for domestic flights, and 34,000 tickets were for international flights (with rounding difference).

Shortly after the incident, Jeju Air shut down the reservations page on their website.
