Nollywood actor Nonso Diobi has narrated how his resemblance with veteran actress Hilda Dokubo helped him secure his first major break in the movie industry.

He mentioned that he had gone for an audition when Hilda Dokubo noticed him and requested the director to cast him as her brother in the movie due to their resemblance.

Speaking in a recent episode of the ‘Nollywood Hardcore’ podcast, Diobi said: “Back to the story of how I got my first movie role. I was at an audition and I started hearing people calling me from afar.

” I approached. Before I could get close to them, Hilda Dokubo said, ‘This young boy looks like me. He can play my brother.’

“That was how I finally got my first role after three years and more than 1000 auditions. I didn’t even audition for it.”
