Bella Shmurda Deported, Banned From Visiting Ghana After Attacking Doctor Over COVID-19 Test Result

A Ghanaian Court sitting in Accra has ordered the deportation of Nigerian afrobeats singer, Bella Shmurda, from Ghana after he was found guilty of attacking a doctor with a fork while in quarantine at the MPlaza Hotel in Accra.

The singer was deported alongside Ramsey Omeofe and Jubreel Abimbola after they were fined GH¢2,000 each.

Bella Shmurda and his colleagues were also banned from travelling to Ghana for a period of three months.

Reports say that they became agitated and attacked the doctor after being put into quarantine for testing positive for COVID-19.

It was gathered that the trio were quarantined upon arrival in Ghana as mandated during the pandemic and were subjected to COVID tests.

They were quarantined at the MPlaza hotel in Accra and had their samples taken and reportedly tested positive for the virus which meant they had to remain in quarantine.

Agitated that the development would disrupt their scheduled function in Ghana, they were said to have attacked the doctor, who delivered the news to them, with a fork.

According to reports monitored by TCN, the alleged attack was part of an alleged plan by the trio to escape from quarantine.

Last week, a video had gone viral in which several Nigerians complained of being forcibly taken to quarantine upon landing in Accra on the excuse that their rapid antigen tests at the airport for covid19 were positive.
The Nigerians, including Shmurda, who spoke in the video said they had travelled to Ghana with their negative test results from Nigeria but Ghanaian authorities ignored the results.
It will be recalled that many Nigerians few years ago used to complain of high-handed Ghanaian immigration officials rejecting some yellow cards issued in Nigeria and thereby forcibly administering yellow fever vaccines on such travellers before they could be allowed into Ghana.
